San Diego is one of two cities that shows home price increased. Does this mean San Diego's real estate market is stabilizing? Will their be a double dip in San Diego? Are prices in San Diego on the rise?
According to the S&P/ Case-Shiller Home Prices Indices' released Feb. 2011 'San Diego and Washington DC as the only two cities where home prices are increasing on a year over basis +1.7%' San Diego, CA.
What are some factors that could cause home prices to continue to increase?
- San Diego's coastal bubble bursted earlier than other areas, with REO (bank-owned property) San Diego has had more time than other cities to absorb the inventory.
- A pause on new building developments
- Rising consumer confidence
- Lenders open up opportunities for home buyers to qualify for loans
- Approx. 15% of home sales in San Diego included relocation
